London Ambassadors Hotel

100 rooms. 6 floors. Built in 1920. Renovated in 2006. Situated just off Cromwell Road, the Ambassador Hotel is in an excellent location, providing the ideal base to explore nearby Kensington and its many popular museums. The Ambassador resides in one of the quieter residential areas of the capital, whilst being conveniently close enough to its many tourist destinations. A few minutes relaxing walk away is the elegant Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, where one can go boating on the Serpentine Lake. But if you would rather shop than relax, then nearby Kensington has it all. There is the Kensington High Street to be exploited as well as the popular Harrods store in Knightsbridge. Then afterwards, only a 20 minute tube journey away, are the West End shopping centres of Oxford Street, Covent Garden and Kings Road. However, the hotels location is best for visiting the Kensington museums and Earls Court and Olympia exhibition centres, which are only a couple minutes walk away. The Ambassador Hotel has recently undergone major renovation to increase the standard of room quality and to provide greater in-room amenities. There are 140 lightly furnished ensuite guestrooms available at the hotel. Private bathrooms are equipped with a shower and/or bath unit and toilet. The rooms are spread across 6 floors and are easily accessible by a lift. The types of room on offer are the single, twin, double and triple room (which accommodates for up to 3 people). Non-smoking rooms are available on request. There are different standards of room available at the Ambassador, including the standard, executive and club class bedroom. Guestroom quality above the standard room enjoys basic amenities with upgraded features like larger rooms and bathrooms. Standard in-room amenities include a hairdryer, satellite television, direct dial telephone, ironing facilities, and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel also provides services that include a 24 hour reception, safety deposit boxes, a wake up call service, and laundry facilities. For the business traveller, there is internet access available as well as fax and photocopying facilities. There are many areas at the Ambassador to take time and relax in. In the morning, one can relax in the breakfast room whilst enjoying either a continental or fully cooked English breakfast. For the rest of day, there is a lounge and coffee bar to pass the lunch time hours socialising and enjoying a hot beverage and light snack in. Then, after an exhausting day shopping and sightseeing, there is the bar on the ground floor of the hotel where one can take pleasure in a refreshing cocktail before going to bed. The Ambassador Hotel offers an affordable base to explore the capital from. It is ideal for both the leisure and commercial traveller with easily accessible transport links to the tourist and business areas of London. The nearest tube stations to the hotel are Earls Court and Gloucester Road. Victoria railway station is conveniently close and provides a direct link to Gatwick International Airport, every 15-20 minutes, via the Gatwick Express. Rating: Mobil 4 star(s).
